Our show for 2008 was Steel Magnolias which was staged to raise money for the Soldiers, Sailor, Airmen & Families Association (SSAFA)

Steel Magnolias is an hilarious and touching play for 6 women and is set in a beauty parlour in Louisiana.

Through four scenes spanning three years Clairee, Ouiser, M'Lynn and Shelby - Truvy's regular customers - and Annelle, her eager but inexperienced assistant, engage in small-town gossip, running the gamut of the birth/marriage/death cycle. When tragedy strikes the deep strength and purposefulness underlying the antic banter of its characters is ultimately revealed.

SSAFA Forces Help is a leading Services Charity which helps men and women who serve, or who have served at any time, in the armed forces, including reserve forces and national servicemen, together with their families and dependants.
