When We are Married

Imagine you're invited to a party to celebrate not one but three silver wedding anniversaries - all on the same day. Now imagine that the celebrations turn sour when the happy couples are faced with a sudden new reality that threatens the comfortable life they've lived for quarter of a century.

This is "When we are Married" by JB Priestley - the 2006 production by the Ridgeway Theatre Company, which was staged in Chiseldon in November.

Set in Yorkshire in the early years of the last century, When We Are Married is a funny and moving play which keeps the audience guessing about the outcome right to the end.

“Marriage is like paying an endless visit in your worst clothes.”
JB Priestley
